Zhejiang Zhuji Launches Quality Improvement Initiative for the Computer Embroidery Industry
Zhuji City in Zhejiang Province accounts for approximately 65% of the annual output of embroidery machines in the entire industry, making it the largest manufacturing base for computerized embroidery machines in China. To further enhance the competitiveness of products in the computerized embroidery sector, the Market Supervision Administration of Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, is leveraging a new round of initiatives aimed at boosting the quality of specialized industries. This involves progressively implementing quality improvement measures to ensure the high-quality supply chain of the computerized embroidery industry and ultimately drive its sustainable, high-quality growth.

To further enhance the competitiveness of products in the computerized embroidery sector, the Market Supervision Administration of Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, is leveraging a new round of initiatives aimed at boosting the quality of specialized industries. This involves progressively implementing quality improvement measures to ensure the high-quality supply chain of the computerized embroidery industry and ultimately driving its sustainable, high-quality development.
The bureau has vigorously promoted quality management training, inviting experts from the Zhuji Computer Embroidery Machine Industry Association, Shaoxing Institute of Standardization, Shaoxing Institute of Quality Inspection, and other leading organizations to jointly establish an expert service team. This team is dedicated to helping enterprises adopt advanced quality management practices, enabling them to build integrated, data-driven business models with a 100% implementation rate. For instance, the bureau guided Zhejiang Pumeike Intelligent Embroidery Equipment Co., Ltd. in investing over one million yuan to implement systems such as Kingdee ERP, MES, and APS. These systems have been rolled out across all key business processes—ranging from planning and production to finance and customer management—enabling the company to embrace digital and IT-based management. Additionally, the company has refined its process inspection standards, created dedicated process inspection roles, introduced cutting-edge quality analysis tools, and launched a targeted quality improvement initiative.
Additionally, the bureau has established the Zhuji City Computer Embroidery Machine Quality and Technology Public Platform, leveraging its testing facilities as a hub. This platform provides effective, production-oriented services to computer embroidery machine companies—including staff training, laboratory development, product testing, scientific research and innovation, and standard-setting—serving more than 50 enterprises over the past year.
To strengthen standard leadership and comprehensively elevate the industry standards of computer embroidery machines, the bureau has actively leveraged the role of the Zhuji City Liaison Office of the National Sewing Machine Industry Association, accelerating the development of new standards. It has also proactively promoted integrated electromechanical and highly efficient, safe product standards, participating in the drafting of four industry standards, including "Industrial Sewing Machines—Computer-Controlled Embroidery Machines." As a result, over 90% of products from enterprises above designated size now comply with these standards. Furthermore, the bureau is vigorously advancing the cultivation of Zhejiang Manufacturing standards through a tiered approach, driving the formulation of the "Pinzi Mark Zhejiang Manufacturing" standard for the embroidery machine industry. Currently, three major computer embroidery machine manufacturers have jointly developed a total of three "Zhejiang Manufacturing" standards.
Branding is a powerful driver of industrial growth. The bureau has strengthened its brand services and refined its enterprise brand-development roadmap, encouraging companies to adopt an "import-then-export" learning approach. Additionally, it coordinates experts and professionals to conduct thorough diagnostics for businesses, offering tailored improvement strategies. The bureau also guides companies in fostering intellectual property innovation, helping them proactively shape their brand strategies early on. Currently, the embroidery machine industry has nurtured 3 nationally recognized brands, 3 provincial-level brands, and 1 product certified under the "Pinzi Brand Zhejiang Manufacturing" standard. Moreover, 8 companies have already secured either published or granted invention patents. Notably, the Zhuji Computer Embroidery Machine Industry Base has been officially recognized as both the "Zhejiang Province High-Tech Specialty Industrial Base for Computer Embroidery Equipment" and the "Zhejiang Province Professional Trademark & Brand Base for Computer Embroidery Machines."
